Jai Verma attended an event held for International Yoga day. It was the third year in a row that the Hindu Temple in Nottingham have hosted an event in celebration of the day. Jai also attended the first event of this kind, back in 2015, and the second event the year after which was held at the Indian Community Centre on the same date in 2016.

Yoga is a 5,000-year-old physical, mental and spiritual practice having its origin in India, aims to transform body and mind.

The day was adopted as International Yoga Day in 2014, when Indian Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi stated: 

“Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition to the world. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being.”
