On November 13th, 2015, Jai Verma travelled to Wembley Stadium in London as part of the “UK Welcomes Modi” event. This was an important occasion for Anglo-Indian relations, as the Prime Minister of India met the British Prime Minister David Cameron, as well as many other important people in the UK, including Mrs Verma.
Over 65,000 British Indians travelled to Wembley to witness the event, filling the stadium to capacity. Mrs Verma was given a VIP pass courtesy of the Indian High Commission, to attend a function and dinner after the event. This was followed by an opportunity to meet, and be photographed with, Mr Modi.
